Can bullet points be added to Text objects in LiveCycle? If so - how?

Insert/Delete a page in LiveCycle Designer disabled
I am working with an 8 page form and am trying to delete the last page on the file, however when I try the 'Delete Page' option is disabled or 'greyed out'. I am using Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.05.2... and created the form in LiveCycle. It also won't give me the option to insert a page (also a form created in livecycle designer). Anyone have any ideas or seen this problem before? I am going through everything trying to figure out what the issue is.

LiveCycle Designer "Menu Bar" missing
How can one get the menu bar back (File, Edit, View ... Window, Help) in LiveCycle Designer ES (8.2)?
It's installed as part of Acrobat 9 Pro on Windows Vista.
In the process doing screen prints and dragging images between documents (e.g., paint and word) I mistakenly dragged the menu bar off the LiveCycle Designer work area. On another monitor I realized it wasn't acting like what I was going to paste and (not realizing what it was) took it to the lower left of the monitor (out of the LCD screen) and dropped it. Going back to LCD I discovered that it must have been the menu bar and ... not to be found.
I've uninstalled Acrobat 9 Pro, rebooted, removed the Users/<username>/App Data/Roaming/Adobe/Designer folder, and then did a complete install (not 'Typical', not 'Custom') of Acrobat 9 Pro and STILL NO MENU BAR.
The menu bar acts almost like a toolbar or palette but is apparently treated differently ... position, etc stored in the registry?
I also saw that F9 supposedly restores the menubar in Acrobat 8 on Windows (but no effect in LCD); also tried the Acrobat 8/Mac solution (Ctrl-Shift-M) with no effect.
Also, doing a restore is not an option (thanks to our system folks).
Any help appreciated.

Red border for required fields?
Is there any way to turn off or change the color of the red border for required fields? We still want to show the fields that have not been filled in, but the red box that highlights all required fields (filled in or not) can be very distracting on large forms with many required fields.
I haven't found a way to disable the red border or change it to a different color.
Is there a way to do this using the built-in check for required fields?

Adobe Reader cannot save..just print the form

I made a simple form using LiveCycle Designer ES2. When finished I saved normally as PDF.
When sending via e-mail or copying to another computer...I´m opening the PDF in Adobe Reader to test if it works. All the fields are ok (I used simple fields, no JavaScript).
But Adobe Reader shows a message that the current form cannot be saved. If I want I could print to have a filled copy of the form.
What I´m missing?
How could I make the PDF opened by Adobe Reader and be able to save without problem?

Error during XSN importation process
As part of our company's process to move away from MS InfoPath I have been tasked to find a suitable replacement.
Pertinent to this is a necessity to translate our existing library of InfoPath forms into something more usable and touch-screen friendly - i.e. fillable PDFs.
I downloaded the evaluation copy of LiveCycle Designer ES4 and have tried on many unsuccessful attempts to import some of our existing XSN templates with the resulting error message: "Unable to apply xsl transformation on template xml file to create html file."
I then downloaded the Designer ES4 update/patch but with no change in behaviour.
I have tried several different XSNs - from the initial fairly complex form to very simple forms that just contain a few check boxes and text fields but with the same result.
I have saved the XSN files in the various flavours (Filler Form Template and Browser Form Template) but still receive the same error when importing
I did read somewhere that MySQL cam cause some issues so installed the trial of Designer on another clean machine but again, the same result.
One machine is running Server 2008 R2 and the other is Windows XP. Both have the latest MS updates applied.
Unfortunately I cannot find anything in my Google searching that mentions this specific error and because of my inexperience in XML etc. I am finding it difficult to trouble-shoot this on my own - so ANY assistance or suggestions would be gratefully accepted.

Obtaining a split value of a person's full name
I have a field which a person enters their full name (First Name [space] Last Name). I want to have another field obtain and return the substring/split value of the First name only (i.e. up until it encounters a space in the main string).
For example: A value of John Doe will return "John"

data connection newbie
Got a quick question regarding connecting a form created in LC ES2 to a spreadsheet or access db.
I've been asked to create a form that can be used to produce pdf copies of 1099's for our imaging system. The data we get from our vender is in a giant text file which they apparently drive thought their printers using custom paper with all the graphic elements already on it.
It takes alot of manpower to physically scan those paper copies into the image system. If we could produce a large pdf file with all the 1099s we could load it in in seconds.
i've done similar documents using Crystal reports but i already have the form created in LC and have been reading up a little on data connections. My main question is, once I get the data file and connect it to the form, will I be able to set it up so ALL the records produce a 1099?
So if my spreadsheet has 100 records, when I preview my form, the pdf shows each 1099(100 pages) ?
If so, can anyone point me to samples of something similar? Thanks!

Help with email validation
Hi all
1. created a form for my company that requires an email address; however people fail to enter the full email address. I want to make the email field to not allow them to go on unless it reflects example@progressive.com. When I try to use the validation deal I keep getting the error "sampleremail validate failed". I want to make it so they MUST enter a company email address; and no other email other than company or submit isn't possible.
2. I have a claim number field that the users can copy the claim number and paste it in the form. This inserts a dash. (i.e. 14-9999999). I want to make the dash mandatory but when they paste it in the first two blocks will be the "14" and then the dash will be static, then the remaining seven blocks will be filled with the balance of the claim number.

I want it to disregard the dash but still lets them paste the claim number with the dash.

Duplex Printing - Odd Page Issue
I'm using the following logic to avoid printing subsequent form's details on previous one, it seems to work fine in most of the cases but for some of the data input the logic is not working, I've placed some debug statements and found out that at the time of layout ready event pageCount%2 == 0 is yielding an even number so the logic is going into else block but when the form is rendered finally I'm not getting the total page count as even. I'm not sure asto why there is a mismatch between pagecount at the layOut ready event. Have any of you guys run into the same issue? I appreciate any suggestions.

Basic calculations in LiveCycle
I'm trying to create basic calculations in a form that I am creating in LiveCycle Designer. Has anyone does this, and can you please give me some help? I don't understand the instructions in the Help feature or the book that I have. Here is what I am trying to do:
Text Field A 100 (manual entry)
Text Field B 75 (manual entry)
Text Field C 25 (Result of calculation of A - B = C)
Then:
Text Field D 2 (manual entry)
Text Field E 50 (Result of calculation of C X D = E)

Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.2 ES keeps crashing at Startup
I've upgraded from Adobe Acrobat Professional 7.0 to Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0. Acrobat works fine. However, every time I launch Designer I get a debug window at the splash screen. The program freezes and quits everytime. I've repaired, uninstalled, and rebooted several times. 7.0 is completely uninstalled. I've even checked the registry. Still it freezes and crashes.
I'm on XP SP2 and have .NET Frameworks 1.1, 2.0, 3.0 and all their SPs.
Please help.

Dynamically populating a text field on the Master Page
I'm trying to populate a text field on the Master Page of a form by having it populate as a user types data into a text field in a content area. So far, I have it populating when the user puts the cursor into the Master Page text field and then leaves that field after typing data in the text field in the content area. I want the text field in the Master Page to populate as the user types in the text field in the content area, so it looks like both fields are being filled simultaneously.
The script which now populates the text field in the Master Page is
this.rawValue = MNPD.Form130.Page1.CSIInfo.CPN.rawValue; This script is in the Enter, Exit, Calculate and Validate events of the Master Page text field. I suspect that I am not correctly referencing the Master Page text field when trying to put a script in the content area text field events. From the Hierarchy, the Master Page text field is MNPD > Master Pages > PageArea1 > CPN and the text field in the content area is MNPD > Form130 > Page1 > CSIInfo > CPN I have tried putting the following scripts in the exit event of MNPD>Form130>Page1>CSIInfo>CPN and they have all failed: MNPD.#pageSet[0].PageArea1.CPN.rawValue = this.rawValue; MNPD.pageSet[0].PageArea1.CPN.rawValue = this.rawValue; MNPD.pageSet.PageArea1.CPN.rawValue = this.rawValue; I even tried renaming Master Pages to MasterPages and replacing pageSet with MasterPages and that didn' t work. How does one do this?

Can you please let me know how to identify whether value in a decimal field has decimal
if value has decimal, i need to ignore that value during summation.
Requirement is as follows
A table has 2 columns. Column 1 has a running number that can have values like 1, 1.1, 1.2, 2
Second column is amount. This can have decimals.
I need to total the amount only for main nos 1, 2. Amount for rows having decimal should be ignored

calculating times in 15 minute increments
Good Afternoon,
I am making a form where we report how much leave is being used. The leave will be reported in 15 minute increments. (Ex: fifteen minutes = .15; one-half hour = .30; 45 minutes = .45) I need to be able to add these up and have them keep this format of 15 minute increments. Also, I need the display to be a decimal instead of a colon, if possible. (Ex. 3.45 instead of 3:45).
any advice is appreciated!!!
