How to get LiveCycle Designer 4?

Last year I downloaded a trial version of LiveCycle Designer.

I liked it.

So we bought 4 licenses.

Now I am going to need to have my PC re-imaged.

LiveCycle will be going bye-bye.

I'll need to re-install it.

But there is no more trial download available.

We bought licenses and not CDs because Adobe told us we only needed licenses.

But now all my licenses don't do me any good if I don't have the product itself, which I won't have after the re-image (and no, I don't still have the download from a year ago, nor do I even think I should have kept it)

So now that the trial is gone and the possibility of downloading a copy, upon which to apply my licenses, how the heck am I supposed to get it?

Adobe Form Repeat a Subform Every Page

Hello Adobe Forum,

 

I'm an SAP user and am creating an Adobe form (my first). I posted this in an SAP forum, but have yet to receive any feedback whatsoever so I thought it may be better to go to the Adobe experts themselves. I've run into an Adobe issue and am just spinning and spinning trying different techniques to make it work. Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

 

In my content area I have three subforms. The first subform is positioned, the fields have to be placed correctly. The second subform is fundamentally a table header for the third subform, which is the rows of the data. All three subforms are wrapped in another subform that is flowed.

 

Why would I do it like this? Well, the table in the third subform has control levels so it merges like rows nicely in this way when the first column rows are the same...

So the first page of my document would look like this...which is what I want.

H is repeated for every page. So it is on the Master page. That's easy.

1 is the 'sub-header' and should only be on the first page. This works.

2 looks like a header for the table, but is really it's own table because of formatting requirements and the values are dynamic. It looks nice, but shows up only on page one.

3 is the data table. It works great too.

 

Page one looks great. Page two looks like this... I can't get part 2 from above to repeat for every new page.

I have tried numerous approaches, but nothing seems to work. I really need to stick with the control levels, and that keeps me from having one nice table with a header that repeats. Perhaps I've approached this fundamentally wrong?

 

Here is my layout in case that helps at all explain my issue. I truly appreciate any help, this is the last hurdle on my form and then it's done. I'm sure a seasoned Adobe person may quickly see the err of my ways.

Import Data to Forms does not display Tab Delimited .txt Option

Was this option taken away or is it a specific form issue? I'm trying to import data from Excel into a fillable Form and this seems to be the easiest solution as the Exported XML file from the form is not mappable into Excel which prevents me from pulling the excel data into the form.

 

Or am I attacking this in the worst way possible?

 

FYI, I am using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro to import into the form.

Basic calculations in LiveCycle

I'm trying to create basic calculations in a form that I am creating in LiveCycle Designer. Has anyone does this, and can you please give me some help? I don't understand the instructions in the Help feature or the book that I have.  Here is what I am trying to do:

 

Text Field A 100 (manual entry)

Text Field B 75  (manual entry)

Text Field C 25   (Result of calculation of A - B = C)

 

Then:

 

Text Field D 2    (manual entry)

Text Field E 50  (Result of calculation of C X D = E)

calculation script based on value of a radio button

I am wondering if anyone can give me some help. I am trying to make a calculation script that I can insert into a number field that will only calculate when a radio button is checked. I am trying to do an estimate sheet that when certain check boxes or radio buttons are selected (Such as moving furniture, pulling up old flooring) it will calculate an additional charge based on that selection. Any help would be much appreciated.

Ruler in adobe live cycle designer in mm

Hi All,

 

Is there any way in adobe designer where i can set the x and y co-ordinate in mm instead of inches in layout properties of an object?

 

I want to design form with particular specifications and those specifications are in mm and in designer the ruler is in inches how do i convert it in mm.

If/then statement with hidden fields

I have a form with a drop-down field that has 3 possible values (Today, Tommorrow, Next Week). Below this drop-down field is text field (TextField10) that needs to be filled out by the user ONLY if "Next Week" is selected in the drop-down. I would like for TextField10 to be hidden unless "Next Week" is selected.

For TextField10, I have "this.presence="hidden" written into the initialize event so it is hidden when the user opens the form. This works.

 

For the drop-down field, I have:

 

if (this.rawValue == "Next Week") then TextField10.presence = "visible";

     endif

 

written into the exit event in FormCalc. I need this in FormCalc because I have many other scripts in the exit event already written in FormCalc and I don't want to have to change all of them. I have checked "Specify Item Values" in the Binding Tab of the drop-down field.

 

Would someone please tell me what I am doing wrong. TextField10 is hidden, but never appears no matter what I select in the drop-down field.

Change field value based on drop down list selection

Let me start by saying that I consider myself a complete rookie when it comes to this program but I am learning. I have a drop down box that contains two choices (White or Bright White) Based on the selection in the drop down box I would like to change a field value to reflect the appropraite part number (Alpha numeric if that matters). I will have 10 fields that will be an either/or value based on the selection. I have searched the forums but without understanding the terminology yet it is hard to find the answer.

How to show current page number in formcalc?

I have a client who won't allow JavaScript in their forms for security reasons.  I'm trying to convert the JS I've used to work with FormCalc instead, but I don't have much experience with FC and I'm stuck at the first hurdle.

 

I want to display the current and total pages in the master page and I've changed the generated code to use FormCalc and changed to use the dollar reference, but the form doesn't render the current page number.

 

Here's the code

 

return.#pageSet[0].Restricted.CurrentPageNumber::ready:layout - (FormCalc, client)

//Doesn't work, even though it's copied from the reference material

this.rawValue = xfa.layout.page($)

// also tried

$ = xfa.layout.page($)


return.#pageSet[0].Restricted.NumberofPages::ready:layout - (FormCalc, client)

//Works

this.rawValue = xfa.layout.pageCount()

 

 

Any and all help would be really appreciated

Is it possible to designate stapling when printing a PDF form?

I am using Adobe Lifecycle Designer (ver. 10.0.1029120306.1.870331) to set up a new report for an SAP application.  I can certainly designate duplex printing from within the form by using Form Properties and the PDF Print Options, but no stapling option can be found.  Is this possible?  Is there a way to set this up from within the PDF form?  If not within the form, what have others found to work for their environment?  We are using Xerox GPD PS printers here and they certainly offer the stapling feature.

PDF Signatures - Error Message

When signing a PDF signature field component, results in the following 3 error messages after each other (text correctly shown, spaces and all)

1) The FieldMDP expression for this signautre is invalid

> After clicking on OK on 1), i get the next err message

2) Creation of this signature could not be completed.
Unknown error
Support Information: CSigField-1013

> After clicking on OK on 2), i get the next err message

3)The document could not be signed.
There was an error when attempting to commit this signature. The document was not saved.
The save operation was cancelled.


Any takers?

Pasted Text Retaining Font, Size and Color Attributes

Hello,

 

I'm using Adobe LiveCycle ES4 to create forms for others using both (up to date) Windows and Mac OS. I have various text boxes that use a specific font, font size and color when used. I want the same font, font size and color to apply when they copy and paste text into the forms. Is there a way to do this besides using the Form Field Text Properties to reapply all the attributes? Is there a way to possibly force the font and other styles when users paste in text in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC?

When I copy and paste a text of size 10 in a text field, the text is copied in size 12.

Someone has ever been in this situation?

to Turn off of or set auto complete feature in Adobe reader 8 through LC designer

Hi i am developing the XDP through LC designer . After renering the PDF through form server if i open the PDF in adobe reader 8 it pop up message saying auto complete . I dont want to dispaly the pop up message iwhile opening the PDF in reader 8 . So Please provide scripts or some alternative to set in the XDP side to set the auto complete eature to off

How to count Records in a Table and/or Form

I have a Table which is being passed to my context in the ADOBE Form.  I need to be able to count the # of records in this table.  I don’t have to display the actual table in this case on the form, I just need the record count.  And, I need to do this using JavaScript and I don’t know anything about Java (although if FormCalc works I can use this as well).     My Tablename is Customer and on my form it is in the Hierarcy data.main.customerbody.customerline.  If I have to have this table data on the form then I can just put it on the form and make it invisiible.  I really only need to count the # of records though and return this # to a Text Field on the form.

 

Does someone know how to do this and can you give me an example in either Java for FormCalc?  The more specfic you can be with the scripting example the better for this newbie.  thx!

Duplicate Data Fields Help Needed

We have a 9 page Word form that has some duplicate information, have converted it to LiveCycle but am stuck on finding out how to have the data from one field also show in another so the user does not have to enter twice.  Eventually we will remove the duplicate fields, but for many reasons, right now they must remain.  I don't want a Contractor to have to enter their Company name twice, etc., and have my main data collection form in the front of the 9 pages, and then when they get to the last page with sigs, etc., I would like what they've already entered for their Company information to show.

 

I am very new to Designer ES, and when I did some forms in Adobe 9.0 Forms awhile back, all I needed to do was to name the fields the same and if I entered info in one it would show in the other.  ES does not seem to do that, and I can't seem to find out how to add any code to the field.  Don't know why but alot of my options are grayed out.

 

Anyway, would very much appreciate help, thank you.

TimeSheet to round to nearest quarter hour

I have this time sheet that has four "In" and four "Out" columns,and calculates hours worked in a two week pay period. There is a column on the right that calculates the hours worked for the day (see script below). I need it to round to the nearest quarter hour i.e.,

 

If an employee arrives or leaves between:

 

":00" to ":07" minutes after the hour, calculate from the top of the hour

 

":08" to ":22" minutes after the hour, calculate from quarter after the hour

 

":23" to ":37" minutes after the hour, calculate from the half hour

 

":38" to ":52" minutes after the hour, calculate from three quarters past the hour

 

":53" to ":60" minutes after the hour, calculate from the top of the hour

 


Examples:

 

An employee records that they arrived at 8:07 a.m. Calculate from 8:00

 

An employee records that they arrived at 8:08 a.m. Calculate from 8:15

 

An employee records that they arrived at 8:22 a.m. Calculate from 8:30

 

An employee records that they arrived at 8:37 a.m. Calculate from 8:45

 

An employee records that they arrived at 8:53 a.m. Calculate from 9:00

Hiding a master page based on a condition

Hi All,

 

I have created a form which has data on odd pages and some terms and condition on the back pages(even) pages. I am using Adobe Livecycle Designer ES version 8.1.2

 

For this I created 4 Master pages.

FirstPage - Pagination -> Odd/Even - > Odd (front) pages

                                   Placement -> First Page (in Page set)

 

Front Page - Pagination -> Odd/Even - > Odd (front) pages

                                   Placement -> Rest of pages

 

BackPage - Pagination -> Odd/Even - > Even (Back) pages

                                   Placement -> Rest of pages

 

Dummy - Pagination -> Odd/Even - > Blank page

 

I dragged the content area of back page on the dummy page.

 

This set up works fine for printing.

 

I have additional requirement of archiving, emailing and faxing. While sending a email or fax or archiving, the data should be continuous, the back master page should be removed otherwise they show in alternate pages as blank pages even if i set the presence property to visible(print only) .


Are there any settings which can be done to remove the master pages that are not needed based on a codition.
Any help will be appreciated.

'Save As' Button on Form

At the moment we are having to ask the user who is filling in a form to do a 'save as' and then specify a file name (that follows a particular naming convention).  It would be so much better if we could place a button on the form so that when selected it would save the form under a name which is made up of a couple of field values from the form itself.  Is this not possible?
