Hi there,

 

I need help, desperately.

 

I made a form using Desinger ES2, and set its target version to 9.1 or later.  When it is rendered in the browser/standalone with Reader Version 9.0, it would pop out "Invalid enumerated value: validationState", twice...

 

I do a version check in the form's formReady event, it hides the entire form if version is not >= 9.1, and also pops up a message box telling the user that they do not have the latest Reader and should update or the form would not display/function properly.  BUT our client is still not happy with the sollution and complains about seeing this popup when they load it in 9.0.

 

I need help getting rid of this popup in version 9.0 please.

Is there a way to set up meta data in LiveCycle that will map over to Adobe?  In the adobe properties there is a "Keyword" section.  Where can get enter the Keywords in LiveCycle to that they will map over to that keyword section in Adobe?

Hello

I have a question regarding Adobe Livecycle and Acrobat Pro. I know of the 500 users or usage limit since we only have Acrobat Pro. We use Acrobat Pro for enabling the saving feature for livecycle forms. I want to know if that limit is connected to how many times you can save a form or to how many times you can export a xml file using the Send with Email function? I hope there is no limit to that since I am using some forms as templates to create other forms.

Hi Everyone,

 

Can any one please show me how to create a form with table of contents (TOC). I have a form that contains 8 pages with 8 sections and the customer want

to have a TOC so they can just click on it and it will directly go to a specific section without scrolling down of the form. They want it to work like a TOC that

people used in Microsoft Office. Is it possible to have it done in LiveCycle Designer? If so, could anyone please show me how to create it or if you have any

sample please post it on this forum. Any advise/help would be appreciated.

     I am unable to access LifeCycle ES2 from my Adobe Acrobat X pro, even though I am supposed to have it as part of the software.  I have tried Forms/Edit forms, and I have looked for it through all the menus.  Several of the helps I have found for other things has me launch LifeCycle and operate from screens that LifeCycle designer provides. 

    I am using Windows XP professional.

    I would appreciate all the help I can get on this.

I have a form that contains a flowed subform, set to top to bottom flow direction and allowing page breaks within content. I have a 7 column table, also set to allow page breaks within content, with a header and body row, both set to allow page breaks, and left to right layout rows. In column one (body) I have a button to add instances to grow the table a row at a time, and in column two of the body, I have a button to remove the current instance (row). I have text fields in place in cells 3-7, and in each of these cells I want to "Limit Length to Visible Area", but when I select the choice for each cell, I get the error, "This object is expand to fit. Limit to Visible Area will be ignored. Please turn off expand to fit for this property to take effect." I can see that the table layout height property is set to "Auto-fit", but it is greyed out and I cannot change it. I have looked in the XML Source, but I have been unable to find a solution to this problem. Is the only work-around for this problem to set each individual cell/text-field to limit the length and give a value?

Hello there,

 

please help me with this issue.

 

 

I want to have "Save as" button, when I click it rename file name in specific field entry name( rawValue ) and Save it silently with massage box.

Tried as much I can learn, because I have no clue with js coding. I understand that part with js file in Adobe JS folder, but have to put wright code.....

We are transitioning to using Gmail. I have developed our first LiveCycle Designer form. One of the employees who tested Gmail early, before the rest of us transition, has attempted to use the email submit button on the form. Clicking the email submit button results in the program crashing. It seems like IMAP has to be enabled for this to work, but this will not be enabled for our users.

 

Does anyone have tips on using an email submit button with Gmail?

Hi, I have a field that ocasionally can contain negative raw values.

 

What happens is, when a negative raw value is fed to the field, the field looks like this:

 

($999.999,00)

 

And I'd like it to look like this:

 

-$999.999,0

 

Any ideas how to do this?, I couldn't find any option in the patterns section.

Hello Adobe Forum,

 

I'm an SAP user and am creating an Adobe form (my first). I posted this in an SAP forum, but have yet to receive any feedback whatsoever so I thought it may be better to go to the Adobe experts themselves. I've run into an Adobe issue and am just spinning and spinning trying different techniques to make it work. Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

 

In my content area I have three subforms. The first subform is positioned, the fields have to be placed correctly. The second subform is fundamentally a table header for the third subform, which is the rows of the data. All three subforms are wrapped in another subform that is flowed.

 

Why would I do it like this? Well, the table in the third subform has control levels so it merges like rows nicely in this way when the first column rows are the same...

 

 

So the first page of my document would look like this...which is what I want.

H is repeated for every page. So it is on the Master page. That's easy.

1 is the 'sub-header' and should only be on the first page. This works.

2 looks like a header for the table, but is really it's own table because of formatting requirements and the values are dynamic. It looks nice, but shows up only on page one.

3 is the data table. It works great too.

 

Page one looks great. Page two looks like this... I can't get part 2 from above to repeat for every new page.

I have tried numerous approaches, but nothing seems to work. I really need to stick with the control levels, and that keeps me from having one nice table with a header that repeats. Perhaps I've approached this fundamentally wrong?

 

Here is my layout in case that helps at all explain my issue. I truly appreciate any help, this is the last hurdle on my form and then it's done. I'm sure a seasoned Adobe person may quickly see the err of my ways.

Hello!

 

I'm using Adobe LiveCylce Desinger integrated in SAP. I have a task to hide a database-table, if the table empty is.

 

Normmaly we can do following to check, whether the content empty is.

 

if (this.REMARK_TEXT.rawValue ==null )

this.presence = "hidden";

else

this.presence = "visible";

 

The question is, how to check in Javascript, if a table empty is.

Hi

 

I'm creating a PDF in LiveCycle, which has a decimal field with the display pattern 'num{zzz,zzz,zz9.99}'.  The idea is for users to enter a numerical value with a maximum of two decimal points (i.e. 1,234.01)

 

Now I'm testing this form out to see whether it'll handle any incorrect user entries - especially the scenario where a user enters some string (letters) in this field by error. When I'm testing this scenario on Acrobat Pro, any text entries will be cleared out as soon the user tabs out of the field (which is exactly what I want it to do as it only should accept numerical values).

 

However when testing this out in Adobe Reader (with Reader Extendability switched on), any text entries are replaced with a "0.00" when the user tabs out of the field.  Unfortunately this is not what I want .  Replacing an incorrect entry with a 0.00 is actually a misrepresentation, because 0.00 is a valid entry that the users should be allowed to enter if they want to (hope that last sentence made sense ).

 

Does anyone have any ideas how this can be sorted? I'm thinking this is something to do with the "Allow Empty" or the "Allow Zero" settings on the display pattern window.  But i haven't got a clue on where to start because I've never used those settings before. Any help anyone can provide me will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Hi Experts,

 

I am facing a typical situation in which the decimal places should align accordingly.

For Example I am displaying Price field and Quantity field in Adobe form in which I tried to align as shown below but got failed. Suggest some way if you had already faced and solved.

 

Case1:

 

Price     :           1500.00 EUR

Quantity1:        500      PCS

Quantity2:       500      PCS

 

In case of PC quantity 1 and quantity 2 whole number part should align with price field.

 

Case2:

 

Price     :           1500.00     EUR

Quantity1:         500.00     KG

Quantity2:        500.00     KG

 

In case of KG quantity 1 and quantity 2 whole number part and decimal part should align with price field.

 

 

Kindly throw some ideas.

I am using sum the following script

 

sum(Table1.Row1[*].amount[*])

 

to total 28 rows in a column however the script only seems to work on Row1 - I am not sure what I am doing wrong -

 

I am using formcalc and each cell is labelled 'amount' and is a numeric field.  The script is entered in a numeric field labelled Total.

 

I feel I am missing something simple but not sure what.

 

Can someone help?

Hello, I am new to Adobe Livecycle, I'm using Adobe Livecycle Designer ES2.  I am trying to create a PDF when the user has to select a style of window from a drop down list in a PDF.  I have all the styles saved as .pdf however I am unsure how to use Livecycle to have the drop down box show all the styles for the user to select one.  Any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Experts,

 

I would be grateful if you can help on this:

 

An Acrobat expert from adjacent forum kindly gave me this JS which enables a checkbox field to tick, when text is entered into a text field.  I'm trying to replicate this in ES4.  The JS is:

 

this.getField("Check Box1").checkThisBox(0, (event.value!=""));

 

I would be greatful if anyone can explain how I can make this work in ES4.

Hello,

 

I'm designing a form which include a table with only one header row and one body row. However, this row is set to have multiple values so it will depend on the data on the system it may have 1-n rows.

 

What i want to accomplish is:

 

Limit some of the rows to be visible when in one of the fields have a specific value "x".

 

Item	Main item	Description
10		Product A
20	10	Product B
30	10	Product C
40		Product D

 

I want to restict the lines 20 and 30 to be visible in the form. So when field main item is populated, the line should be hidden.

 

if(Form1.bdyMain1.frmTableItems.tblItems.rowItemContent.colProdDesc.rawValue == "");

then

  Form1.bdyMain1.frmTableItems.tblItems.rowItemContent.presence = "visible";

else

Form1.bdyMain1.frmTableItems.tblItems.rowItemContent.presence = "hidden"

Tried to use this code but the entire row gets deleted, i guess it is considering only 1 row...

 

Anyone knows how to accomplish this?

Hi Experts -

 

I have a JavaScript that worked well in Acrobat. Its function is to tick a checkbox when text is entered into a text field.  I'm trying to apply the JavaScript to do the same thing to another set of boxes (text field and checkbox) in LifeCycle. 

 

In LifeCycle - I have entered the JavaScript in Script editor, and have 'Show: Validate*'.  Unfortunately it is not working - any help  greatly appreciated. JavaScript from  forum expert kindly supplied is: 

 

this.getField("checkbox 1").checkThisBox(0, (event.value!=""));
